1. Introduction
Zube ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Android application ("App") handles information and requests device permissions. We do not collect, store, or share your personal data.
2. Data Collection and Usage
Zube operates entirely on your local device. We have a strict zero-logs policy regarding your activity:
- No IP Logging: We do not monitor, record, or store your IP address on any server.
- No File Tracking: We do not track the magnet links you click, the torrents you add, or the files you download.
- No Analytics: We do not integrate third-party analytics trackers (like Google Analytics or Crashlytics) to monitor your app usage.
3. Android Permissions Explained
To function as a BitTorrent client, Zube requires specific Android device permissions. We request these solely for core app functionality:
Storage Permissions (Read/Write/Manage External Storage)
Required to save downloaded files to your device and to read `.torrent` files you choose to open. Zube only accesses files associated with the app or directories you explicitly authorize.
Network Permissions (Internet / Network State)
Required to connect to the peer-to-peer (P2P) network, download data from swarms, and check for active Wi-Fi or cellular connections to prevent unwanted data charges.
Foreground Service / Wake Lock
Required to keep downloads active in the background while your screen is off or while you use other apps.
4. P2P Network Visibility
Please note that by the inherent nature of the BitTorrent protocol, your IP address is visible to other peers in the swarm you are downloading from or seeding to. This is standard for all P2P clients and is necessary for direct data transfer. This data is not sent to us.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Because we do not store your data on any external servers, there is no account to delete. All app data (such as your download queue, settings, and downloaded files) is stored locally on your Android device.
To delete your data: Simply clear the app's cache and storage via your Android Device Settings (Settings > Apps > Zube > Storage > Clear Data), or uninstall the application.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in Google Play policies or app features. We will notify users of significant changes via the App's release notes.
